State Management

State Management

Did you get out of the wrong side of bed this morning?

Perhaps you just don’t feel up to it today?

If you feel this way sometimes, chances are you are in an inappropriate state.

State Management by Stacking Anchors

We can also ‘stack anchors’ to help build a really resourcefull state – perhaps for going in to meetings or doing presentations.

State management is the process by which we ensure that a state is easily accessible to you at a time that is right for you, some typical states that can be really useful in business are:

  1. Concentration
  2. Excitement
  3. Passion
  4. Motivation
  5. Being Focused
  6. Drive
  7. Determination

That feeling of ‘I got out of bed the wrong side’ is a state of perhaps demotivation – and can easily be changed.

When you go on holiday do you ever have to struggle to be in a state of enjoyment? When you stare in to the eyes of a person you love do you ever have to struggle to be in a state of calm?

That’s because we are using ‘anchors’ to assist us in getting in to the right state. The anchor for calm could be your loved ones eyes, the anchor for enjoyment could be the sound of the sea and the smell of the sea air.

All we need to do is to elicit a desired state, perhaps motivaton, then attribute an anchor to this e.g. touching a knuckle, we will then find it easy to get in to what ever state is appropriate for that moment. Simple.
