This article is primarily focused at healthcare professionals, particularly dentists although the content is relevant to anyone in business.

Did you know there are four primary ways that we make sense of the world around us:

Visually

Kinaestheticly

Auditory

Auditory digital (logical structured)

When you understand which one you are primarily it makes it far easier to recognise why you think in certain ways, it also will help you communicate with people which represent the world around them differently to you, but when you think the plans patients or dealing with other team members.

Visual

People that represent the world around them visually think primarily in pictures. Most of us do this to a certain degree although some people do it far more than others. Visual people will often be artists, designers, photographers or anything to do with visuals.

When these people think in pictures they will literally create a picture in their mind’s eye… Even a visual speller will visually see the letters of the word in their mind (by the way, this is the strategy to use if you are not a great speller, visualise the letters in the word rather than try to use simple memory).

A visual person will often say things like:

“do you see what I mean?”

“do you get the picture?”

The words they use literally explain how they represent their world.

Top Tip: if you are presenting a treatment plan to a visual person then use plenty of photographs and diagrams to explain what you mean

Kinaesthetic

People that represent the world around them in a kinaesthetic way are more connected to feeling. This is both emotional feeling and physical feeling. Kinaesthetic people will often have touch related jobs e.g. massage, reflexology or even something like a potter. They may also be counsellors and connect with feelings and emotions in their job.

A kinaesthetic person will often say things like:

“does that feel OK?”

“What do you feel about that?”

Top tip: If you are presenting a treatment plan to a kinaesthetic person have study models that they can hold and feel, have physical models of implants and crowns so they can touch and hold them.

Auditory

One of the least common representational systems. Auditory people will be very focused on the way the world around them sounds. They may be musicians or work in jobs relating to sound. An auditory person will also a very distracted by sounds around them and will often want to work in a quiet environment. If you’re talking to an auditory person they may find it difficult to hold a conversation with you if other people are also talking in the background.

An auditory person might say things like:

“How does that sound?”

“Do you hear what I’m saying?”

Top Tip: If you are presenting a treatment plan to an auditory person it will be absolutely fine to explain by voice alone what the treatment plan is. You could also record your explanation and send it to them as an auditory file.

Auditory digital

This relates to internal dialogue and logical thinking. Auditory digital people will often be engineers, scientists or people which think in very clear, logical straight lines. An auditory digital person needs order, flowcharts and processes.

I’ve run many courses looking at these different types of representational system and by far the greatest percentage of dentists are auditory digital. Auditory digital people like to think, plan and organise.

An auditory digital person might say:

“there is logic in what I’m saying”

“does that make sense?”

Top Tip: if you are presenting a treatment plan to an auditory digital person use statistics to back up your argument for example, success rates, number of treatments completed etc. Present your treatment plan logically using reason, systems and analysis to present it. And above all, if you are a dentist the chances are this will be your primary representational system, so be flexible in the way you communicate.

So how do you represent the world around you?

Which of the representational systems looks, sounds, feels or logically is more like you? (See what I did there!).

If you do some digging around online you should be able to find a representational system preference test (alternatively send me an e-mail and I can provide one for you), this will give you an idea of what your own representational system is.

And the biggest tip I can give… Just because something seems right to you, does not necessarily mean it is right or make sense to someone else… Remember, most dentists are logical auditory digital thinkers, and most people in the general population are visual. Remember to present your treatment plans in a way that makes sense to the person you’re communicating with.

The post Know Thyself – What type of thinker are you?

Before I was coached I thought I had the perfect business, I started with working out my values, from there I created my mission which led into creating the strategy and tactics for the business.

Yes, this is what the gurus tell you to do. I did it.

But I missed one of the biggest questions – are my values conducive to running a business and making money?

Bugger… I never thought of that!

Before I started coaching my values were:

Fun

Challenging

Excitement

Money was nowhere to be found.

My business was a little bit pants.

How can we have a successful business if money isn’t part of the values?

So, with my coach I changed my values around. I added in money at my number 3 value, and guess what’s happened since?

To work with me as your coach, illicit your values and work out if your values are conducive to doing what you want, book your free discovery call.
The post How to make money, money, money first appeared on .

When I did my MBA we looked at a concept called “Satisficing”.

Satisficing is a decision-making strategy that aims for a satisfactory or adequate result, rather than the optimal solution. Instead of putting maximum exertion toward attaining the ideal outcome, satisficing focuses on pragmatic effort when confronted with tasks.
Investopedia

I remember so clearly the words ‘satisfactory’ and ‘adequate’ sticking in my mind. I do PERFECTION only, nothing else will do!

The idea of just compromising the ideal outcome and just putting in satisfactory effort to achieve an adequate result was abhorrent… I bet you recognise that?

However, the more I’ve learnt about this principle, the more I’ve come to accept it as being healthy and very often the right choice.

Here’s an example.

I’ve recently started running again, I don’t get any of the running highs that people talk about. I don’t enjoy it, I don’t relish the idea of going out running and I find it laborious, boring and painful.

At the moment I run 5K in a little over 25 min twice per week.

If we look at my motivation and reasoning to do this, it’s purely for my physical and mainly heart health. I’m 52 and want to ensure my heart remains fit and strong.

A few people have said to me, “If you are running 5K, why not push it to 10 K?”, of course, I could. I could push myself, I could challenge myself and in many ways it would be good to overcome the mental and physical pain in order to do this.

But why?

Using the satisficing principal, I’m putting in satisfactory effort to gain adequate results. I’m fitter, stronger and healthier than I was before. There is absolutely no need to push beyond that.

So what’s the lesson?

I think many times we believe that only the very best will ever do and that we have to push ourselves to achieve it. 5K then 10 K then a marathon.

However, if we clearly define what our aim is, then there is often no reason to push beyond the effort to gain adequate result in order to achieve our aim.

So my challenge to you now is, if you find you are always striving to push forwards, is it because you have an inherent desire to always push for more and more… And if you have is this healthy?

And also, if you are continually pushing for more and more, is it because you have not defined your aims clearly enough? And if you do define your aims, do you actually need to continually push yourself so hard?

Being kind to yourself is equally as beneficial, I often find.
The post How much is too much, or not enough? first appeared on .

Those working in the dental, medical or health and wellness professions will often wonder what they need to do in order to to ensure they have a successful business… There are 3 key elements of success.

Technical Skills

The first key element is to have good technical or clinical skills, without these the business is unlikely to be truly high performing and as successful as it can be.

However, and is rather a big HOWEVER… I’ve seen too many businesses focus all of their efforts in improving clinical or technical skills in the belief that it will enable them to have a more successful business.

The reality is, that if no one knows you have the skills (marketing) or they are not backed up by good customer service (processes), or don’t make the business enough money ( finances) then clinical skills alone just don’t cut it.

You need more than just good technical skills, you need good business skills…

Business Skills

One of the best frameworks I know for managing, monitoring and adjusting a business is what’s known as the Balanced Scorecard. It looks at 4 key performance measures:

Financial perspective – this takes into account profit and loss, cash flow and balance sheet. It should be seen through the eyes of someone focusing on the accounts.

Customer perspective – this takes into account marketing and how the customer perceives the business and interacts with the business. It should be seen through the eyes of the customer.

Internal business perspective – this takes into account internal processes and systems. It should be seen through the eyes of the business as a whole.

Innovation and learning perspective – this takes into account the self reflective practitioner, learning, development, team etc. It should be seen through the eyes of the individuals within the business.

And yet, even with the highest level clinical/technical skills coupled with the business skills (and even using a balanced scorecard) some businesses still don’t reach optimum performance… There is one factor still missing…

Mindset

It’s possible to be the best clinician and the best businessperson, but if you don’t believe that you are, then you aren’t! It really is that simple.

“The mind is just like a muscle – the more you exercise it, the stronger it gets and the more it can expand.”
― Idowu Koyenikan, Wealth for All: Living a Life of Success at the Edge of Your Ability

Limiting beliefs are common factor for holding a business person back, beliefs about not being worth it, beliefs adopted from our parents who told us we will never achieve anything in life, beliefs that are written out of past (perceived) failures.

As our beliefs take hold we become more risk averse, we make poor decisions and sometimes, we even destroy our own success in order to prove that negative belief we have about ourselves.

“I’m going to prove that I will never achieve anything in life by destroying this business, then at least I’m right”

Yes, this is actually what happens. We like to be right and if the beliefs about ourselves is negative then people do actually (unconsciously) destroy what they have built in order to be right.

How many times have you seen business people yo-yo? Build a business > Bankrupt > Build a business > Bankrupt > Build a business… (perhaps not quite so dramatic as this, but you get my point).

The good news is that whilst business and clinical skills take time to acquire, mindset is based on ‘state’… And states can be managed and adjusted at any time.

There really are no other resource for people, just unresourceful states, and if we can access those resourceful states, whilst removing unresourceful states then we can build a successful business based on our fabulous business and technical skills.

Without the need to yo-yo!

Yeh sure, everyone is in sales. Whether it is selling their business, their products or themselves everyone is in sales, aren’t they?

Well actually no.

SALES is about you, it’s about you making a sale, it’s about you selling something, it’s about you developing your business, it’s about you making more commission… It’s all about you.

Every sales technique I have ever seen is all about the salesman using techniques to build rapport, sell the features and benefits, overcome objections and close that goddam sale. Well why not begin to think of it from a different point of view, rather than selling why don’t you help people buy?

We all enjoy buying right, we all enjoy going to the shops and spending money on things that we want… Unlike the ‘hard sell’ which we hate, we enjoy the ‘hard buy’! And we all know that you want to be more than just the person that sells – don’t you. So let’s think about buying…

Buying is fun, buying is enjoyable so just forget about selling.

If you step out of your frame of reference for just one moment and consider the other person, if you consider the world from their point of view, what they want & what motivates them you enter a whole new world of ‘assisted buying’.

Try this perceptual positions exercise.

Imagine yourself selling whatever it is that you sell, imagine yourself standing in front of the other person and looking through your own eyes at that person. As you go through your spiel notice what the other person is doing and looking like.

Now switch, become the other person looking through their own eyes, looking at you. Now what do you see? What do you notice in the person that is doing the selling? Are they congruent, in fact are you enjoying it as the person being sold to?

Now step out of the other person and become a third person. Become a third person and see yourself and the person you are selling to standing opposite each other, notice what each of you are doing, notice when the person selling (you) says something, what is the reaction of the other person. Notice the facial expressions, notice the change in breathing as you try to sell something, and get ready for it… Notice the reaction of the other person as you go for the close!

Did you notice anything new?

Did you notice how uncomfortable the other person was when you got to the close?

If you step out of yourself for one moment and into the mind of the other person, you can see that the person you are selling to often knows that you are selling. They know you are not being genuine and they know you are using techniques. We truly enter into the mind of the other person when you understand exactly what it is that they want, the classic NLP question is “For what purpose…”

For what purpose would they want to buy this from you?

What would this get for them?

What would this enabled them to do?

NLP is content free, we are not bothered about what ‘it’ is, we just want to know what ‘it’ would get you, for what purpose and what would it enable you to do. It’s the same with sales, forget about what ‘it’ is and focus on what it can do for the other person.

Here are some examples:

People don’t want the new telephone, they want to be able to communicate better with their friends. So help them do that.

People don’t want a dental implant, they want to be able to eat and chew improperly once more.

People don’t want a new car, they want freedom to travel wherever they want whenever they want in the luxury that they want.

This is truly enabling the other person to buy from you, you have entered into their own world and you have stopped being a salesperson… Congratulations, now enjoy what happens next…

Let me tell you a little story. Prior to the 1950s there was a very definite school of thought which said that the human body could not possibly run 1 mile in less than 4 min. It has been reported that some physicians even thought that the heart would explode if it were put through this torture.

This school of thought led the athletes of the time to believe that a sub four-minute mile was impossible.

This school of thought placed a mental and physical restriction on the human body.

They said that the goal of running a mile in less than 4 min was completely unachievable and unrealistic.

Apart, that is, from one person – Roger Bannister.

He refused to accept this physical and mental restriction.

He refused to accept that the goal of running a mile in less than 4 min was unachievable or unrealistic. So after planning, training and refusing to listen to what the world said on 6th May 1954, with his heart pounding furiously in his chest, he set out on the track to prove them all wrong.

On that day Roger Bannister ran the mile in 3 min 59.4 seconds, the first man alive to run a sub four-minute mile.

Suddenly the goal was achievable, it was realistic and your heart wouldn’t explode in your chest if you put it through his torture. And with these limiting belief removed, two months later during the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games John Landy and Roger Bannister ran a mile in less than 4 min again.

The sub four-minute mile is now a standard amongst world-class athletes with the current record held by Hicham El Guerrouj, who ran a time of 3:43.13 in Rome in 1999.

So what happened? Did the physiology of all human beings change after that date?

I suggest not, but what did change was the limiting belief!

SMART Goals

So let’s look at Smart goals then:

Specific.

Measurable.

Achievable.

Realistic.

Time bound.

Specific and measurable – these are both admirable qualities in a goal, these should absolutely be in any goal that you set yourself. You need to be absolutely specific about what you want to achieve and you need to know a way of measuring your success. In my role as a coach I often work with clients who want more confidence. When asked the question ” How will you specifically know you are as confident as you want to be, what will you be doing?” they often have no way of answering! This is then part of the problem, they simply don’t know when they are confident, and so it becomes a goal with constantly moving goalposts and they will spend their lives feeling that they are not confident.

Achievable and Realistic – OK, so now the problems start. Roger Bannister was told that running a sub 4 minute mile was neither achievable or realistic. If he had decided to listen to the prevailing wisdom and set himself a SMART goal then his target would probably to have run the mile on that day in 1954 in about 4 min and 10 seconds.

He didn’t do this, he set an unachievable and unrealistic goal.

This pushed him to a place that he’d never been before, in fact it pushed a human being to a place that we have never been before-only to find that it actually was both achievable and realistic!

Setting goals which are achievable and realistic places into your unconscious mind a limiting belief. If we have a limiting belief that we can only run a mile in 4 min and 10 seconds, then that is exactly what we’ll do. If we have a limiting belief that we can only generate £X of turnover in year one then that is what we’ll do. If we have a limiting belief that we can only lose 1lb of weight on a weight loss program in a week then that is what we’ll do.

Our beliefs about ourselves not true, however we act as if they are true. If those beliefs are positive and are affirmations then it is fine that we act as if they are true. However if those beliefs about ourselves are negative, then we will act as if they are true until they become our own reality.

I’ll say that again. Our beliefs about ourselves are not true, however we act as if they are true and so they become our own reality.

Time bound – yep, I’m good with that part two is all goals need to have a specific time when you will achieve them.

Each time we set ourselves a goal which is achievable and realistic with create a boundary around that goal in order to make sense of it. We could even then define that goal as ‘the problem’

Once we have created a limiting belief about what we can achieve in our goal we have created a problem with the boundary. And guess where the solution to the problem lie? Yet, it’s outside the boundary.

If you really truly want to excel, if you really and truly want to become the most excellent human being that you know you are then never set SMART goals!

For further advice on how to set proper goals that will remove any of these limiting beliefs and allow you to reach your full potential please take a look at my goalsetting page.
The post Never set SMART goals first appeared on .

We’ve we have all heard it haven’t we “If price was no object would you buy this from me now?”. EERR, makes me want to puke!

Or how about this one, you’re being sold something (and we all know where we are) you are offered the trial close, then the salesman goes into objection handling mode until you’ve got no more excuses, and then wait for it… Wait for it… Here comes the final “close”!

Now of course we need to work to a system when we have a client with us, we need to explain features and benefits of our product or service in a way that the other person understands. We need to build rapport with our client and understand what their problem is, however the classic SPIN selling model is based on the concept of increasing pain. The SPIN model works to understand why the client wants to solve the problem, what their pain is and then increase the pain until they either commit suicide or hand over their credit card details!

If you want to find out more about the SPIN selling technique, here was a website I found. (I do not endorse this technique or this website, this resource is simply provided to you to find out more).

The SPIN model clearly works as it has been used around the world for many years now, however I believe there is a more elegant and eloquent way of engaging and allowing your customers to buy from you, rather than using techniques in order to sell to them.

One of the other problems I encounter with this type of sales technique is the insistence that the transaction or ‘close’ happens there and then. Either signing a contract, or agreeing to whatever is being sold. The principle is that you should never allow the other person to go away and think about your offering, as it gives them time to talk themselves out of it. This may or may not be true, however insisting that someone signs there and then misses an absolutely fundamental principle of how we think and convince ourselves of the right decisions.

We all run what is known as a ” Convincer Demonstration Filter” which in NLP is known as a ‘meta program’- if you do not understand your client’s convincer demonstration filter and you attempt to close the sale using the wrong strategy for that client then you will almost certainly lose the sale.

This is how the convincer a demonstration filter works.

When we are required to be convinced about something, that could be another person’s performance such as in a work setting, or it could be we are required to be convinced about a product or service before we purchase it – when we are in this situation we will have a little program that we run in our mind which allows us to become convinced, or not convinced as the case may be.

There are four types of strategy that people use to convince themselves:

Automatic.

Number of times.

Period of time.

Consistent.

Automatic Convincers

These are the type of people who have done the research, worked out what they want & made the decision ready to go. There are already convinced before you get to the ‘close’ part of the sales process and if you stick rigidly to asking lots of questions about whether they are ready to buy or not, can become rather frustrated.

These people may have the pain in their hand ready to sign, and you don’t need to use any other technique on them other than to get them to book their appointment or sign a contract. In fact using any other technique on them may put them off as they might think you aren’t listening to what they say.

If you have an automatic convincer in front of you, just get on with it and stop faffing!

Number of Times Convincers

These people need to be convinced you are the right provider of your product and service a number of times. They may need to see proof over and over you are genuinely good and true to your word. If you say that you genuinely care about them, they might want to see this represented on your website, when they phone you, when they come in to visit you, during the consultation and finally during the decision-making process.

A number of times convincer will have a specific number of times they need to be convinced – the clues in the title! If you have a three times convincer in front of you then you’re going to have to convince them three times that you are the best person to provide your product or service. If you are smart with your marketing you will allow them to do this during the marketing process, as mentioned above on the website and phone calls etc.

If you have a number of times convincer in front of you, allow enough time and give them enough information to be convinced however many times is right for them.

Length of Time Convincers

These people need to be convinced over a period of time. They want to hear the information that you have to provide, wait a period of time, and then become convinced.

A length of time convincer will have a specific amount of time they need to be convinced over. If you have a length of time convincer and their length of time is one month then you are not going to get them to sign up or agree there and then. You need to make a note in your diary to contact them after one month, when they will be happy to go ahead.

If you have a length of time convincer in front of you do not push for the close of the sale there and then give them the amount of time they need to become convinced themselves.

Consistent Convincers

These people can be the bane of your life. They will never be convinced, they will come back over and over and over again always wanting more information and prove that you are the right person to deliver your product or service. If you have a consistent convincer in front of you and decide to do business together you had better be prepared to demonstrate every single time you interact with them that you are the best person. You cannot rest on your laurels and you can never stop allowing them to be convinced.

So how can you tell what type of convincer a person is?

As with much of NLP you ask a simple question, shut up and listen.

Ideally the question you need to ask these people is “How often does someone have to demonstrate competence before you are convinced?” If they say for a week etc, then they are a length of time convincer, if they say three times etc then they are a number of times convincer, if they respond saying they are never convinced them they are a consistent convincer and if they respond saying they don’t need to convince they just trust then they are an automatic convincer.

The ideal time to ask this type of question is during your rapport building process at the beginning drop, it into the conversation – however it could be difficult to ask this question exactly so you could say, “I’m interested… to make sure that we give you the best service can you tell me about the last time that you bought the product similar to this” – and then listen for their response.

They may talk and mention things like “Well, I popped in to see what they were like, then I looked at their website, then I gave them a call, then I went in to see them directly and then I realised they were the right people” What type of convincer do you think this person would be?

Yep, they are a number of times convincer.

What about if they said this “Well, I popped in to see what they were like had a good look around and chatted to the people there, then I went back again a month later and booked my appointment” – what type of convincer are they?

They are a length of time convincer… do you see the pattern?

Summary

Using questioning and listening for specific words and phrases that people use to understand how they construct the world around them is a far more elegant and eloquent way of building rapport and closing a sale. It means you are totally customising your technique for the other person, this helps them to relax, trust you and know that you understand how to solve their problem.

If if you want to find out more about practising these techniques, and indeed building them into a complete process with many other similar techniques then please do take a look at our NLP Communication & Metasales Workshops where you will have plenty of time to learn, practice and perfect your listening skills!
The post The Classic ‘Sales’ Close – Time for a Change? first appeared on .

The post “I’m Just a ….” Do you Say this? first appeared on .

“I just a housewife”, ” I’m just a nurse”, ” I’m just a builder”, ” I’m just….”

Do you say this kind of thing? Do you know others that say it?

What I would say to you is that surely you are more than this? How much more than just a housewife, nurse, builder or anything else are you? Is that all you are?

Many of us have habits of giving ourselves, and indeed others, labels. And often these labels are rather restrictive, using the word ‘just’ is an example of one of these restrictive labels. There is not one person in the world who is just a housewife, nurse, builder or anything else. Every single person in the world is so much more than that and so are you!

So here is my challenge to you today. Listen out for the word ‘just’ in your language, then question yourself and ask if that is all you really are? And if you hear someone else say I am just XYZ then challenge them, and ask them if that is all they really are?

This is a really simple NLP technique which can make a huge change in people’s lives if they understand that they give themselves labels which hold them back.

So watch your language, speak with precision and be aware of limiting labels everyday.

MySuccessfulLife is a life and business coaching company which enables individuals to resolve those internal conflicts which hold them back in life… You know the ones!

There was a recent report by the government department responsible for statistics which highlighted that many people in the UK at the moment do not feel happy.

They went on to look at the ways in which people found it easiest to find happiness in their lives, looking at money relationships and suchlike. The report was a detailed analysis of both what made people happy and ways in which people felt anxious. Indeed one of the questions asked was do you feel more less anxious today than you did yesterday.

I’m not entirely sure what the purpose of the report was, why would a government want to highlight how unhappy people are?

The real issue for me is that this statistical analysis did not seek to find out, nor help people to be happier. All it did was highlight the reasons people are unhappy-and that’s a wholly different thing.

You see, happiness is a state, much like motivation, excitement or being relaxed.

So, why is this important?

This is hugely important as states can be accessed at any time, and are not dependent upon external influences if one so chooses.

Neuro linguistic programming or NLP is a way that we can control our state to access motivation, excitement, relaxation or indeed happiness. Try this:

Think about a time, a specific time when you felt truly motivated in the context of your business. As you think about that specific time float down into your body looking through your own eyes and see what you saw, hear what you heard, and feel those emotions of feeling truly and utterly and totally motivated. Did you do that exactly as I said? Okay, let’s do it again.

Think about a specific time when you felt truly motivated in the context of your business. As you think about that specific time float down into your body looking through your own eyes and see what you saw, hear what you heard, and feel those emotions of feeling truly and utterly and totally motivated.

Now notice your increased heart rate and breathing! Perhaps you even feel motivated or exhilarated? You see with the right NLP motivation techniques it is possible to access any state at will. And this includes happiness.

Nothing your business in Rickmansworth or Watford makes you unhappy or demotivated or sad. All that happens is an external event is taken in through your senses, the NLP communication model then explains that this external event is converted into your own internal representation, based upon past experience memories and suchlike. This then affects your physiology and state. A behaviour in response to that external event then happens, in other words you feel sad, motivated or unhappy.

The thing to remember, is that you can control this process. You can decide how to represent that external events internally in your own mind. And if you so choose, using the power of NLP for your mind and business you can decide that you are happy now.

Only when we take full responsibility for everything that happens in our life, can we make changes. And that taking responsibility starts with how you respond to external events.

So, how are you going to choose to make a happy internal representation next time something happens? Can you choose now to be happy knowing that happiness is a state that can be accessed at any time.

I’ve just responded to a great question on a Dental Forum which asked : “Why do you need a business coach?” You can read some tips on juliehancoaching.com. I thought it would be helfpul to post my reply too:

—————————————–

I just wanted to give my thoughts on the concept of using a coach. As you may know I’ve run my own dental laboratory for 16 years using the best Dental Office Space for Lease for this, I now run a marketing company helping dentists with online marketing plus I have an MBA… I guess I’m pretty qualified to run a decent business…

However I have a business coach (and am a coach myself) – this is where my coach helps me:

1) To remove negative emotions. Anger, Fear and Guilt can be BIG hurdles and restrictions in business – think back to things you’ve done in the past… often anger is there, fear and other negative emotions. Most people then self sabotage their current and future successes by not removing these old negative emotions, being fearful of mistakes, angry at situations or guilty about what might happen .

2) To remove limiting beliefs. Typically people have restrictive beliefs about themselves – things like ‘I’m not worth it’ ‘I don’t deserve success’ ‘I’ll always be a failure’. If a person holds these beliefs to be true.. then they are true and that person will NEVER achieve what they want. Once again a suitably trained coach can help you remove these limiting beliefs.

3) Conflicting personality parts. Many people have internal conflicts that they are not at first aware of. e.g. “part of me wants security and part of me wants freedom” or “Part of me wants to be a business owner and do what I want and part of me wants the security of an employer” this type of conflict will again prevent a business owner from achieving and a coach can help that person overcome this.

This type of coach works with business owners but most often does not get involved with the day to day business activities… this is where the wonderful Chris Barrow (CB) and Kevin Rose (KR) some in to play (These are top UK coaches for dentists).

This coaching style (and indeed why I have my own coach) is to ensure that my head is in the right place, with no unconscious sabotage, with every part of my personality aligned to reach my business goal free of negative emotions and limiting self belief. In my opinion there’d be a whole load more successful businesses if more business owners sorted out the negative and limiting ‘shit’ going on in their head!

You can then work on your business, either on your own or with the likes of CB, KR or other ‘implementation business coach’ to ensure that the business itself is working efficiently and effectively.

Does that help answer the question “why do you need a business coach?”
The post Why do you need a Business Coach? first appeared on .
