The post How to lose weight and stay slim first appeared on .

Yep, I thought that title would get your attention. While you have creams such as goji which are helping people to stay wrinkle free, how can you lose weight and stay slim?

The first point I want to raise is that losing weight is really simple, all you need to do is to expend more energy than you eat. Simple is in it.

Yet we go on diets over and over again, we may think that the diet has worked but can it really have worked if we have to keep doing them over and over?

So why don’t these diets work? Well, you know it’s all in your mind. All you need to do is exercise more and eat less and the weight will fall off, yet there is something in our mindset that prevents us doing that, and we all know that if we could actually change our mindset losing weight would be easy and we would be able to stay as slim as we wanted to over an extended period.

So now you know that losing weight is all in your mind I’m going to break this down into stages which will be simple and easy to follow, don’t forget that the option of getting a mummy makeover Sydney is also an option.

Step one.

Identify what the real problem is. Oh yes, you know THAT problem! You see unless we deal with past negative emotions and totally put them to rest it can be difficult to move on. Let’s take sadness for example. The problem with ‘sadness’ is that it is a label, people say ‘I am sad’. This is not true, they may be doing a very good job of showing all the signs of sadness, but they are not ‘sad’ itself – they have simply become very good at ‘doing’ sadness.

This is the same for ‘angry’, ‘fearful’ and any other emotion. No-one is fearful, they are simply very good at ‘doing’ fear!

This is a fundamental shift in thinking but once understood is extremely liberating. It allows a person to realise they can change.

It’s not always easy and may take time, but once a person realises that they do have control, and can learn to do other emotions, states and behaviours just as well as they do sadness or depression… then magic happens.

I’ve had clients say ‘I am afraid’ and have felt that way for 40 years, yet after 2 hours they have realised that they are just very good at ‘doing’ fear and are then easily able to let it go. 40 years of raging fear gone in 2 hours, no drugs just the power of the mind!

But the number of gullible clients I get who use drugs to tackle obesity is disconcerting. These clients are credulous and are desperate to lose weight, ending up in substance abuse. The only thing I do is direct them to a drug rehab treatment.

Step two.

What will losing weight get for you? The question you specifically need to answer is what will you BE, DO or HAVE once you have lost the weight?

Answering this question and writing down your answer will help you to completely visualise exactly what losing weight means to you. Once you have a clear idea of what it means to you the whole process is much more tangible and real. Doing this gives your unconscious mind a goal to focus on which is very powerful

Step three.

Focus on size and measurements not on weight. The more you exercise, the more muscle you will put on, as this weighs more than fat using weight is not a great way to decide how good your program has been.

Step four.

Focus on the big picture. Many people focus on the tiny details of not being able to eat what they want or having to exercise when they don’t want to. So what is the big picture? Well, it could be that if you were able to be the size that you wanted to be perhaps you could have more energy to play with the kids?

If you were the size you wanted to be perhaps you have more sex appeal or be more manly or more masculine, for this there are resources at sites like www.kryolifehealth.com which specialize in this.

Focus on what the changing your size will get you, what would it help you achieve, what would it help you do and what will it help you to have?

Step five.

Honestly identify the excuses. This can be really difficult however you need to tackle this honestly. This is definitely not the case the you, but many people out there may want to stay the way they are as it allows them to sit on the sofa all day and not do anything. If those people wanted to lose weight they would have two get up and do something! This is what we call secondary gain and identifying it is really important.

What we have to stop doing that you like doing if you reach your ideal size?

What will you have to start doing that you don’t like doing if you reach your ideal size?

My suggestion is to take some time to write down your answers to these specific questions, this can be a difficult exercise bike you will find that once you really tackle it that it identifies areas in your life where you can really make some improvements.

Summary

The changes that are required in the way you think are very extensive but are actually pretty simple to achieve with the help of a coach. One of the issues of dealing with this yourself is that the temptation can be to let yourself off the hook! Working with a coach will allow you to deal with past negative emotions in a gentle, relaxed and even enjoyable way.

Timeline therapy® can be used to simply and easily remove past negative emotions, this allows you to focus on the now and the future without the emotional baggage.

We can then use NLP to highlight any of the areas of secondary gain and to set your goal of exactly what you want to be, do and have in your life and what achieving your ideal size will get you.

Hypnosis is then a perfect tool to cement in all of these changes and ensure that the changes are made at an unconscious and permanent level.

If you are looking for a cheap fix to solve your overweight problem then this is not it! Think about what you spent in the past, all of those diets and wasted opportunities… If only you sorted it right from the beginning then you wouldn’t have spent that money and you could have enjoyed the past few years.

Losing weight and staying slim is an investment in yourself and you will reap the rewards of it many times over I’m sure.

So take action today, works with a bullet points I’ve listed above and then when you are ready now give me a call and we can discuss a personalised program just few. Amazingly the weight change program I use takes only one and a half days with a six-week coaching period afterwards, no diets, no restricted foods simply losing weight in the most natural way possible.

Interested? Let’s talk…

A guest blog post by my good friend Joanna Taylor MHS (Acc) Clinical Hypnotherapist & NLP Master Practitioner.

Hypnotic language is the art of using words in such a way as to alter the listener’s state of consciousness; for example to assist an anxious client to access a state of calmness, or to motivate a weight loss client into more useful eating habits – it is not about getting someone to do anything the thinking they would not normally want to do. We already use hypnotic language – think of a time when your mind wandered off half way through a conversation and you missed what was being said, because something in the speaker’s words had sent your mind off in a completely different direction!
Learning how to use this technique deliberately and with positive intention can turn it into a useful communication skill.

Language is one of our most powerful internal “filters” through which we perceive the world around us. Words, whether spoken by another person, or what we say to ourselves inside our own head, communicate much more than we can process consciously. Whatever we say will affect the receiver in some way, so it makes sense to use language in such a way as to produce the most effective results, both for ourselves and for those around us.

On the subject of language, acclaimed Hypnotherapist Milton Erickson wrote, “In any work, you are going to use words to influence the psychological life of an individual today; you are going to use words to influence his life twenty years from today. So you had better know what you are saying.
You had better be willing to reflect on the words you use, to wonder what the meanings are, and to seek out and understand their many associations.” Erickson’s skill with language was such that one of the models within NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) – The Milton Model – was based uponhis work.

The Milton Model uses “artfully vague” and ambiguous language which can communicate with an individual’s unconscious mind, enabling them to overcome problems and discover new
resources.

By changing the structure of the language we use, we can create more choices for ourselves and others. As you start to pay attention to the words you use, you can develop a way of communicating elegantly and effectively; which is what conversational hypnosis is all about.

Negatives and Positives

So how do the words you use affect your clients?

The unconscious mind cannot process negatives (don’t think about a pink kangaroo – oh, sorry; too late!). Bearing this in mind, how careful are you not to use negative words and phrases? I spend a lot of my time working with dental practices and often come across phrases such as: “nothing to be afraid of”, “this won’t hurt”, references to injections or drills and so on. Those are obvious ones, but what of the less obvious ones?

Consider the impact of your own words, especially with anxious clients; what thoughts are being created in their minds as a result of the language you use?

We can make a big difference in our outlook and our clients’ thinking by presupposing what we want and avoiding what we don’t want. You may suggest to the client that it’s easy to incorporate daily self-hypnosis into their schedule, or that they may find it difficult to start with and that it will be a nuisance to remember about it until they eventually get used to it.Which option do you think will produce the best results?

Trying to Change

The word “try” carries with it an implicit suggestion of potential failure. Inviting your client to “try to relax” or “try to imagine” is therefore unlikely to achieve the results you want. (How is that kangaroo, by the way, or are you trying not to think about it..?)

Truisms and the “Yes Set”

Socrates proposed that if a question is asked to which a positive answer will definitely be given, it is more likely that subsequent questions will be answered positively. This is also the case if we use a succession of “truisms”; ie statements of fact that cannot be denied, followed by a statement which we wish the client to act upon. For example, “…so as you sit there in the chair…” [the client is sitting in the chair] “…listening to the sound of the music…” [there is music playing in the background] “…and looking at the trees moving in the breeze outside…” [the client can see the trees through the window] “…you might notice how easily you can relax…”

Now, you have given the client a suggestion to relax, to which they are likely to respond since the rest of your statements were true.

Presuppositions

A presupposition is the linguistic equivalent of an assumption. The power of presuppositions lies in the fact that the unconscious mind has to accept that the presupposition is true in order to make sense of the sentence. Every sentence that we use contains at least one presupposition, and we can use patterns such as the “double bind” very elegantly in conversation; “Will you choose to listen to your self-hypnosis CD in the morning, or at bedtime?” presupposes that the client will definitely be listening to the CD every day; it’s only the time that is in question.

Embedded commands are an instruction embedded within the context of the sentence; for example, “…and you can be surprised at how easily you can… relax in the chair now…”

We can also use presuppositions to attach meanings to something specific; people like to know WHY you are asking them to do something – “Using self-hypnosis regularly means that you will find it very easy to reach your goal.”

There are many more language patterns than I am able to detail in this short introduction; perhaps you might be curious to discover just how easily you can use them in your conversations and how much fun you can have with your new learnings – you probably already know much more at an unconscious level than you think you do… and by the way, have you managed to stop thinking about that kangaroo yet…?
The post Conversational Hypnosis – An Introduction to Hypnotic Language Patterns first appeared on .

“They analysed 13 existing European studies covering nearly 200,000 people and found “job strain” was linked to a 23% increased risk of heart attacks and deaths from coronary heart disease.”

Read the full BBC news story here.

So it seems that stress may indeed increase the risk of heart disease, and what I’m interested in is the comment by the British Heart Foundation that says it was how people reacted to the work stress that was the key.

This is fundamental to understand, many people use the phrase “I am stressed” – in NLP we call this a complex equivalence, it is where a person is saying that one thing is the same as something else… In other words this person would be identifying ‘stressed’ as something separate to themselves, and then saying that they are that separate thing.

This is clearly not true, ‘stressed’ is a state, and is separate to the person themselves. To say ‘I am stressed’ is to suggest that the person is the same as the state . All a person is doing is choosing to do the activity of being stressed, and this activity is separate to themselves as an individual.

The first thing anyone needs to do in order to change, and to decide not to be stressed is to realise that ‘stressed’ and themselves as a unique individual are not the same thing, saying ‘I am stressed’ is factually not correct. Once an individual is able to separate themselves from the stressed state/activity then that person has moved into a place of taking control, and once in control change can happen, we can choose to take healthy choices to remove stress, exercise and take care of ourselves, for this we always ask what is the best whitening cream for face and body? since this could help us making us feel better and reduce stress.

All the time that an individual believes that they are the same as a stressed state, and does not understand that they are separate to the activity of being stressed then change will never happen.

I am a man-this is factually correct.

I am English-this is factually correct.

I am stressed-is not factually correct, I can choose to do the activity of being stressed but it is impossible for me to actually BE the activity of stressed… It is always something separate to me.

The words we say every day have a profound impact upon our lives, and saying things like I am stressed sends a very strong message to our unconscious mind. In order to make changes we need to bring it into the conscious and then make a conscious decision not to draw the equivalence between ourselves and the activity of stress.

Profound? Yes, but also true, and when you begin to adopt this thought process you can find that it also allows you to make the changes you need and begin to live longer without the associated heart conditions!

This is a subject that is often covered in my NLP taster days, more information here.
The post Work Stress and How to Overcome it first appeared on .

Clinical Hypnotherapist & NLP Master Practitioner

Mind and body are part of the same system; what affects one affects the other. How we choose to think and represent our reality inside our heads has a profound effect on our state of mind and on the biology of our bodies. In essence, we become what we think about.

Imagine you are standing in your kitchen and in front of you is a wooden chopping board. In the centre of the board is a beautiful, big, ripe, yellow lemon… Imagine picking the lemon up – give it a slight squeeze and notice the ripeness and the feel of the waxy skin; bring it up to your nose and smell that wonderful, fresh lemony smell… Now to the side of the board is a small fruit knife. Put the lemon back down on the board, pick up the knife and cut the lemon in two… You can hear the sound of the knife on the chopping board, and some of the lemon juice gets on your hand; notice how it feels slippery… Now – bring half the lemon up to your mouth and squeeze four or five drops of lemon juice into your mouth… and as the juice rolls round under your tongue, it is the most sour tasting lemon you have ever tasted!

Now – what just happened? It is quite likely that, if you were imagining that at the same time as reading it, then your mouth would start to water at the thought of the sour lemon juice. In hypnosis, one of the major tenets – why hypnosis works – is that what the mind believes, the body will follow. Your mind believed there was lemon juice in your mouth and your body acted accordingly. In fact, your mind did not tell the difference between a real or an imagined event.

This is the basis of the Placebo Effect – when we truly believe that a drug will work, then it will – regardless of whether or not it is real. In the case of pain, research has shown that placebos can work as well as morphine in 51-71% of the patients.1 A further study has shown that the major factor influencing the results of the placebo effect is the response expectancy – the belief about what a drug will do.2 It is also the basis of Psychoneuroimmunology; an emerging field which explores how our mind – our psychological condition – and our nervous system affects our immune system. As Deepak Chopra states, “Every cell is eavesdropping on your internal dialogue.” So, in other words, when we change what we think, our body follows; our bodies are a reflection of our thinking.

Consider for a moment how mental stress affects the body; how frequently do you end up feeling extremely stressed through imagining “What If?” scenarios which, in reality, will never happen? When we worry or feel fear or anxiety, we cause our bodies to release stress hormones – the “fight or flight” response which was the survival mechanism of our ancestors. There is an awesome post about the way to increase energy levels. Most of the stress that we experience in today’s world, however, is not a threat to our survival, but caused by a multitude of worries about our jobs, personal lives and so on, and as our mind affect our body, also happens the other way around, so the way our body feel and look could affect our mind and our emotional estate, and that’s why people decide to change their body to look better using exercise or surgeries, if this is your case and you’re looking for plastic surgery in boston there are great professionals that can help with this.

Physiologically, these day to day or chronic stressors have a greater negative impact on our health than do more acute, traumatic stressors that generally have a start and an end point (such as divorce or moving house). When the body’s energy is being used to respond frequently to these stressors, it can compromise the immune system’s ability to function properly. Research has demonstrated that almost every major illness that people acquire can be linked to chronic stress, so living a more healthy life could be really improve this, with exercise and a good diet, including supplements from the BestKratomCapsules.Com Powders that really help with this.

Stress, however, is caused by a perceived lack of resources – events in themselves are not stressful; it is the way process the experience of the event inside our heads that makes us able to cope or not. Our stress threshold can be raised significantly through regular use of techniques such as self-hypnosis; giving ourselves positive hypnotic suggestions for calmness in any situation means that we can take that on board as a belief – and as we already know, what the mind believes, the body will follow.

Of course, sometimes we may have negative or limiting beliefs about the way our world works, or how we will behave in certain circumstances, and this can have a profoundly negative effect on our coping mechanisms so we find difficulties to keep our mind calm, so the use of CBD oils could be helpful with this, with the use of this content online. The good news is that any belief that we have “programmed” into our minds can certainly be “de-programmed” if it no longer serves us, using techniques such as NLP, Time Line Therapy or Memory Resolution.

So, start by paying attention to your thoughts – what are you telling yourself about your world? Remember that you have approximately fifty trillion cells in your body and that every one of those cells is being bathed constantly in the thoughts which you choose to offer it. Your thoughts are your own creation; and to quote cell research biologist Dr Bruce Lipton, “Our beliefs control our bodies, our minds, and thus our lives.” And if you don’t think you are in control of your thoughts, then who is?

Since when was a problem with weight actually about the weight?

There really is a simple way to loose weight, and that is output must be more than input. It’s that simple – so what’s the problem?

If you could get to the root cause of that problem would that be a good thing to do? If you could be totally motivated to be the size you want would that be helpful to you?

Great, then you are in the right place to start.

Weight, confidence, career problems, business failures, relationship issues are normally down to 3 key areas that need attention in your life:

Limiting Decisions

Negative Emotions

Conflicting Parts

Let’s look at each in the context of weight loss or weight gain.

Limiting Decisions

The important thing to know is that we make decisions in our life which we then hold to be true. Things like:

I’m not worth it

I’m not good enough

I’m a failure

Any of these limiting decisions ring true with you now? Honestly? You see many of us hold these things to be true about ourselves… but here’s the question.. when did you decide that you weren’t good enough/worth it/etc?

And before that what were you deciding?

Negative Emotions That Affect Weight

Anger, sadness, fear, hurt and guilt can all have an effect on weight… letting go of these emotions is a very powerful way to tackle the root cause of your weight issues – and if the root cause is tackled then we all know that any resulting problems will also disappear.

Conflicting Parts, What effect do they have on weight?

Part of you wants to relax and chillax, part of you wants to be fit… conflicts there I think.

Part of you wants believes you deserve to be confident, part of you thinks that you deserve to be punished… conflicts there I think.

Part of you values freedom, part of you values security… possible conflicts there too I think.

You see, we all have parts of us that want different things, but there’s a totally cool way of uniting those parts again with a Parts Integration. This involves looking at each part and asking what is the highest positive intention… kind of a negotiation between the parts… once we’ve reached consensus on what those parts are there for we can integrate them so that they work together again in harmony.

How do we get all this resolved without mega pain?

This is where Time Line Therapy comes in – and you are dealing with me, a Master Practitioner of Time Line Therapy. It allows you to deal with those issues from a distance, all the while being able to control the distance you are from the emotion. To find out what it’s like to have Time Line Therapy, take the test flight here.

So how do you get started on this amazing and life transformational program? Simple, it all starts with one phone call to me – I’ll gently walk you through what happens, then you can decide if it is right for you – no pressure, no stress – simplz!

What’s the connection between these 3 things?

This is often a difficult thing for people to grasp and leads to the question “How can NLP, Hypnosis and Time Line Therapy help with so many things?” – this truly is a great question as it seems that many people make wild claims that NLP etc are the panacea to all ills.

Well, I’m not going to make any such claims here, but what I am going to do is explain how NLP, Hypnosis and Time Line Therapy can be so applicable in so many ways and applications and also so very, VERY effective.

Let me introduce my Hierarchy of Problems

The hierarchy of problems

Take a look at the list of presenting problems at the bottom… yep weight is in there next to all the others (of course this is an example), this is common in many people’s lives – people will have a whole range of presenting problems that are seemingly not linked . These are often started by the next level up ‘Limiting Decisions’.

Limiting decisions are decisions that you have made sometime in your life to have a limiting belief about yourself. Now this is key, so pay attention. You Made That Decision.

You were not born believing you were a failure, or not worth it, or not deserving… so at some point in your life your unconscious took that decision and you opted to do the relevant behaviour. Accepting this can be tough, I know I’ve been through it, but taking responsibility for the decisions you’ve made is important in the process of letting them go.

Letting go of your limiting decisions

These limiting decisions can result in a variety of problems, so taking them out it a great way to fix lots of problems in life as everything underneath falls apart once the decision is removed, however…

Above those limiting decisions are often deep rooted Negative Emotions, so as you can see, if these are taken away a whole load of problems are likely to disappear.

It makes sense to accept that the best way to solve the most problems is to go back to the root cause and deal with that.. then BOOM everything else negative goes too!

I’ve seen it and experienced it, a client comes in feeling like a failure at work – this is dealt with and they loose weight and start exercising…. now you know why!

The links are now clear

This is of course an example, but you can see the power of removing those limiting decisions and negative emotions to destroy a whole load of presenting problems – this is the power of a Master NLP Coach that is also a Master of Time Line Therapy, we are able to work at this deep level and get to the bottom of so many problems in life, business and weight loss… you see, they are all connected!

Removing Negative Emotions with Time Therapy with Mark
